Boat Show Member
For established boat shows that:
Have been in existence for at least three years, and
Meet the IFBSO Code of Excellence and Basic Minimum Standards.
This is the core category of IFBSO membership, representing the world’s premier shows.
Emerging Member
For developing shows that aspire to become full members.
A three-year mentorship programme pairing you with an experienced IFBSO show organiser.
Access to best practices, networking, and support as you grow.
Transition to full membership once your show has run at least five editions and meets IFBSO standards.
This category is designed to help new events reach the international benchmark.
Strategic Partner (formerly Sustaining Member)
For companies and organisations in the marine and events industry who support IFBSO but do not organise boat shows.
Partnerships are considered on a case-by-case basis.
May include financial sponsorships (e.g. suppliers wishing to reach boat shows) or reciprocal partnerships (e.g. media and associations).
Strategic Partners gain visibility within our global community and access to our network.
Honorary Member
Awarded for life by the Executive Committee to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the boat show industry.
No membership fees.
Recognition as a lifetime supporter of IFBSO.
How to Join
Becoming a member is simple:
Apply – Complete the online application form HERE.
Review – The IFBSO Executive Committee assesses applications against membership criteria.
Welcome – Approved members are formally welcomed, introduced to the network, and given access to the Members Area.
What Is Expected of You?
As an IFBSO member, you are committing to uphold the highest international standards in boat show organisation.
This means:
Adhering to the IFBSO Code of Excellence and Basic Minimum Standards.
Actively engaging in IFBSO activities, such as Working Groups and the Annual Congress.
Paying annual membership fees on time.
Contributing to the reputation of boat shows as a trusted, professional part of the marine industry.
