DIVERSITY WORKING GROUP - a Joint Initiative with ICOMIA

Chairperson: Patricia Becker, Metstrade  (p.becker@rai.nl)

The IFBSO Diversity & Inclusion Working Group, operating as a joint committee with ICOMIA, is dedicated to creating a more inclusive and representative marine events industry. As the global boat show community faces the critical challenge of engaging younger generations and diverse talent, this working group empowers IFBSO and ICOMIA  members to build welcoming environments that reflect the diversity of modern boating enthusiasts and industry professionals.

PURPOSE OF THE WORKING GROUP:

The working group focuses on promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion practices that create meaningful opportunities for underrepresented groups while strengthening the commercial and cultural relevance of boat shows worldwide. From workforce development and inclusive marketing strategies to accessible event design and community outreach, this working group helps members implement practical solutions that benefit both their organisations and the broader marine industry.
