The IFBSO Sustainability Working Group is dedicated to promoting environmental responsibility and sustainable practices throughout the global boat show community. As the marine industry faces increasing pressure to address climate change and environmental concerns, this working group empowers IFBSO members to lead by example in creating greener, more sustainable events.
PURPOSE OF THE WORKING GROUP
The working group focuses on promoting sustainable practices that minimise environmental impact while maintaining the high standards and engaging experiences that define successful boat shows. From waste reduction and energy efficiency to sustainable sourcing and green certifications, this working group assists members in implementing practical solutions that benefit both their events and the environment.
FOCUS AREAS:
- Environmental Best Practices
Develop and share proven strategies for waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and sustainable sourcing across all aspects of boat show operations.
- Green Certifications & Standards
Support members in obtaining environmental certifications and help establish industry-wide sustainability standards that elevate the entire marine events sector.
- Education & Awareness
Create resources, workshops, and campaigns that educate members, exhibitors, and attendees about sustainability initiatives and their positive impact on the marine environment.
- Innovation & Technology
Explore cutting-edge sustainable technologies and solutions that can transform boat show operations while reducing the environmental footprint.
- Monitoring & Progress
Establish clear metrics for measuring sustainability efforts and provide regular reporting to demonstrate the collective impact of member initiatives.
