Finland’s Boating Summer Peaks with the Nordic Region’s Largest In‑Water Boat Show in Helsinki

Uiva Flytande, the largest in‑water boat show in the Nordic region, will bring the boating season to a fitting conclusion when more than 250 boats fill Yacht Club HSK’s marina in Lauttasaari from Thursday through Sunday, 14–17 August 2025.

This year’s show features numerous boat premieres—both for motorboats and sailing craft—with plentiful options catering to a range of uses: cottage boating, commuter boats to islands, fishing, and travel cruising.

"As usual, the majority of boats at Uiva are versatile small motorboats favoured for everyday use in Finland – a country of thousands of lakes and tens of thousands of islands. These multi-purpose boats are typically around five meters long and equipped with outboard engines, used for everything from island commuting and day trips to fishing and transport between summer homes,” says Jarkko Pajusalo, CEO of Finnish Marine Industries Federation Finnboat.

He adds that the number of brand-new models or vessels appearing for the first time in Finland is nearly thirty. For example, the Suvi stand (based in Savonlinna, eastern Finland) will present six brand-new models, and Silver—which is known for its alufiber boats—also showcases five new boats. Yamaha’s booth features three new AMT models along with a selection of Yamaha jet boats and YAM inflatables equipped with Torqeedo electric outboards.

This year’s biggest motor yachts on display include models such as the Princess F50, Galeon 470 Sky, and the Delta Powerboats 48 Coupé, all exceeding 13 meters in length and representing the luxury end of the Nordic boat market.

“This line-up highlights both the vigorous domestic boat development and the interest of international manufacturers in the Finnish market,” continues Pajusalo. “Boat sales have notably increased the number of vessels in use—even if registrations don’t reflect it completely—thanks to many unused inventory boats being sold and put into service this year. Sales of used boats are also exceptionally brisk, significantly outperforming last year’s figures.”

Fishing Highlights & On-Site Expert Advice

Fishing enthusiasts can explore the brand-new AMT 175 Pro Fishing, along with the Buster XXL Fish—equipped with a Yamaha electric outboard and Helm Master EX system—presented by fishing guide Jani Ollikainen. At the Veneilijän Verkkokauppa stand, visitors can also discover the Finval 595 DC Fishpro.

Throughout the event, Kalastajan Kanava (“The Fisherman’s Channel”) will be producing content from the docks, interviewing key figures in the boating world. Both Jani Ollikainen and Jyri Kuusisalo from Kalastajan Kanava will share timely fishing tips—and they will be available near the stands or stage. Kuusisalo will also present the show’s fishing boats daily from the program stage.

A Wide Sweep of Modern Sailing Yacht Offerings

Sailing aficionados will be delighted by an exceptionally broad view of modern sailing yachts. Nine cruising models reflect the latest craftsmanship and established favourites. Hansail will feature the updated Dehler 38 SQ and two Hanses—including the Hanse 360, making its Finnish premiere, and notable for being named European Yacht of the Year in the Family Cruiser category.

Ajola Yachts brings three Beneteau sailing yacht models to Finland, with the First 44 and Oceanis 40.1 making their Finnish debut. The show also highlights the X‑Yachts X4³ MkII and catamarans Lagoon 46 and Lagoon 55, with the latter being one of the largest boats ever displayed at Uiva, appearing from Thursday through Saturday.

Additionally, the Sailing Teachers Association PORY will showcase the joys of sailing with two classic models, and visitors can try the sport free of charge alongside professionals.

Event Access, Practical Services & Tickets

The show opens Thursday through Saturday, 11:00–19:00, and Sunday, 11:00–18:00. It’s easily accessible via metro and a free nonstop shuttle bus from Lauttasaari metro station—departing from the corner of Otavantien and Lauttasaarentie in front of the Lauttis shopping centre.

The spacious exhibition area at HSK Marina features not only boats but also a wide range of products and services—from apparel and boating electronics to heaters, spare parts, and services across the marine industry.

“August is the perfect time to update equipment, order accessories, or book maintenance and sail replacements when the needs of the season are fresh in mind,” adds Pajusalo.

The main central basin hosts impressive flyboard and freestyle jetski performances. Children can try Optimist dinghies and test their skills on a sailing simulator—life jackets for kids are lent free of charge, and pets are welcome on leash.

On Thursday, the program stage will host a panel discussion on Helsinki’s maritime strategy. Jan Sjölund, , Editor-in-Chief of Venemestari, will introduce the latest boat models on the Uiva main stage each day and share insights into boating destinations around the Helsinki region.

Vendors include CasaMoro, Churros-café, Happy Days Streetfood, Levant, Thai Papaya, and Fisu & Ranet, offering flavours from around the world.
