Hiswa te Water's 41st edition new elements wowed visitors
Visitors and exhibitors look back with great enthusiasm on Hiswa te Water 2026 in Bataviahaven. The festive 41st edition took place under bright late-summer sunshine, with only some rain on Friday. More than 425 brand-new boats from around the world sparkled in the harbour and attracted plenty of attention. Visitors clearly enjoyed the impressive range of boats, the lively atmosphere and everything the show had to offer.
Show Director Arjen Rahusen looks back on this edition with great satisfaction: “We were delighted to welcome many watersports enthusiasts, as well as exhibitors from a record number of countries. Thanks to the relatively good weather, the magnificent boats, the ideal location and the exceptionally warm and festive atmosphere, all the ingredients came together perfectly.”
Ahead of the show, the Boat of the Year awards were presented in a festive ceremony. The Saffier SE 28 Leopard was named Sailing Yacht of the Year. In the open motorboat category, the award went to the Highfield ADV7, while the Steeler Enigma 50 won in the motor yacht category. The Esea Open Day Boat 800 received the award in the electric boat category. In addition, brothers Dean and Dennis Hennevanger were honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award, while the Startup Award went to Boss Boating.
Victron Energy has been represented at the show for 40 years through the many distributors offering its systems. This year, the specialist in electrical energy systems took a new step: as part of the Green Route, Victron Energy had its own stand at the show for the first time. “It was an exceptionally positive experience. Thanks to our location on the quay, we mainly welcomed visitors, distributors and exhibitors with a serious interest in our products. That proved extremely valuable to us.”
New to the show this year was the Aluminium Island, which brought together several suppliers of aluminium boats. John Sellis of AluShip looks back enthusiastically on the joint presentation: “Visitors were able to see in one place everything that is possible with aluminium. It worked brilliantly and attracted a large and highly diverse audience. Next year, we hope to expand the island even further.”
Following this successful edition, the organisers are already looking forward to next year with great enthusiasm. The next Hiswa te Water will take place from Wednesday 1 to Sunday 5 September 2027.
