IFBSO launches global Boat Show Barometer to shape the future of marine events

The International Federation of Boat Show Organisers (IFBSO)  has launched its innovative Boat Show Barometer initiative, a comprehensive survey program designed to gather industry insights and help boat show organisers adapt to the rapidly evolving marine events landscape.

The initiative consists of two comprehensive surveys—one for boat show organisers and one for exhibitors—aimed at capturing the full spectrum of perspectives across the marine events industry. The data collected will be presented at the IFBSO Congress 2025 in Palma, providing organisers with valuable benchmarks and best practices to enhance their events.

"In an era where consumer expectations are transforming rapidly, boat shows must evolve to remain relevant and valuable," said Niels Klarenbeek, President of IFBSO. "This Barometer initiative represents our commitment to understanding the changing dynamics of the marine events industry and empowering organisers to create the most successful shows possible."

The exhibitor survey invites marine businesses to share insights on their boat show experiences, preferences, and suggestions for improvement. Topics covered include selection factors, digital integration, sustainability practices, and ROI evaluation methods. The organiser survey examines attendance trends, economic impacts, consumer demographics, and innovative show elements.
