Jouko Huju Appointed as Executive Director of IFBSO

The International Federation of Boat Show Organisers (IFBSO) has appointed Dr. Jouko Huju as its new Executive Director.

Based in Amsterdam, IFBSO represents approximately 30 significant international marine events worldwide. As Executive Director, Huju is responsible for overseeing daily operations, service delivery, and advocacy efforts within the organization. Earlier this year, he prepared a report on IFBSO’s structure, challenges, and strategic changes needed for future growth. Together with the IFBSO Executive Committee, Huju will lead the implementation of the new strategy.

Niels Klarenbeek, President of IFBSO, commented, "We are glad to have Jouko on board to chart a course for attractive, inclusive, and sustainable boat shows, enhanced member engagement, and strengthened cooperation within the leisure marine industry."

Huju brings nearly 30 years of experience in the boating industry to his new role. He has served as the CEO of the Finnish Marine Industries Federation (Finnboat) for 20 years and was a board member of the International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) for 14 years, including four years as President. Huju is also one of the founders of the Global Marine Business Advisors group.
