SEATEC REVOLUTION SUMMIT 2027 PRESENTED AT THE CANNES YACHTING FESTIVAL
Journalists, companies, and international marine-industry professionals attended the presentation of the new Summit organised by CarraraFiere, scheduled for 10 to 12 March 2027. This edition will focus on Sailing & Foiling.
Seatec Revolution Summit 2027 chose the Cannes Yachting Festival as the setting for its first international presentation. On 11 September, at the VIP Club in Cannes’ Vieux Port, the event organised by IMM CarraraFiere S.p.A. was officially unveiled at one of the world’s leading international events dedicated to boating and yachting.
The presentation provided the first opportunity to introduce the Summit’s concept, format and theme for 2027, generating interest, questions and discussion around a project designed to create a new forum for dialogue between technology, industry, research and business. The Cannes debut marked the beginning of a journey that will culminate in Carrara from 10 to 12 March 2027, bringing together companies, professionals, researchers, innovators and international stakeholders for three days dedicated to the transformations currently reshaping the marine industry.
A SUMMIT BUILT EACH YEAR AROUND ONE CENTRAL THEME
Seatec Revolution Summit follows a clear format: each edition focuses on a single strategic theme, explored through technical content, professional debate, training, exhibition areas, networking, and B2B activities. Its aim is to connect different areas of expertise and professional experience, examining innovation not only at the experimental stage, but also throughout the process that can lead to tangible industrial applications. For the 2027 edition, the chosen theme is Sailing & Foiling.
SAILING & FOILING: FROM HIGH PERFORMANCE TO INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
High-performance sailing is currently one of the areas in which research and technological development are advancing most rapidly. Naval architecture, hydrodynamics, aerodynamics, advanced composite materials, sensor technologies, artificial intelligence, digital simulation, electronics and performance engineering are among the fields in which competitive sailing is contributing to the development of new solutions. Seatec Revolution Summit 2027 will focus in particular on how these technologies can move beyond the competitive arena and find applications in yacht design, recreational boating, commercial vessels and the marine industry as a whole. The theme takes on further significance in the run-up to the America’s Cup in Italy, which will draw international attention not only to the competition itself, but also to the wider ecosystem of research, design and innovation that surrounds it.
CONTENT, TECHNOLOGIES AND PROFESSIONAL CONNECTIONS
From 10 to 12 March, the programme will comprise Main Talks, Panels and Training Sessions, alongside exhibition areas and dedicated opportunities for professional exchange and business development. The Expo will showcase products, prototypes and technologies selected in line with the theme of the edition, adding a tangible, application-driven dimension to the broader discussion. The Village will provide a dedicated space for interaction between companies, innovators, start-ups, professionals, students and stakeholders, while the B2B Meetings programme will connect companies, buyers, shipyards, suppliers and international operators through structured business meetings.
The Summit will also include the Seatec Revolution Awards, recognising individuals, companies and projects that have made a significant contribution to innovation within the marine sector. The official awards ceremony will take place during the Gala Dinner, conceived as an occasion for recognition, visibility and networking among the leading figures taking part in the event.
The presentation at the Cannes Yachting Festival therefore provided Seatec Revolution Summit 2027 with its first significant opportunity to engage directly with the international marine market. The interest and engagement generated during the presentation highlighted the value of a format built each year around one clearly defined theme, marking the beginning of a journey that will continue over the coming months and lead to 10–12 March 2027, when Carrara will host the inaugural edition of Seatec Revolution Summit.
