Communication Working Group

1. Purpose
The Communications Working Group (CWG) is established to enhance internal and external communication strategies, promote the federation’s activities, and strengthen the global presence and influence of the members and IFBSO. The CWG will develop, implement, and monitor communication initiatives that align with the federation's mission, vision, and strategic goals.
2. Objectives
- Enhance Communication: Improve the flow of information between IFBSO members, partners, and stakeholders to ensure transparency and engagement.
- Promote IFBSO Activities: Develop strategies to effectively promote IFBSO events, programs, and achievements to a global audience.
- Strengthen Brand Identity: Build a strong, cohesive brand identity for IFBSO through consistent messaging and visual representation.
- Support Members: Provide communication resources, tools, and best practices to support members in their local and international efforts.
- Engage Stakeholders: Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, media, and the boating community, to advance IFBSO’s objectives.
3. Scope of Work
- Internal Communications: Develop strategies to improve internal communication among members, including newsletters and regular briefings.
- External Communications: Manage IFBSO’s public relations, social media presence, website content, and media relations.
- Content Creation: Produce high-quality content, including press releases, articles, videos, and promotional materials.
- Event Promotion: Create and implement communication plans for IFBSO events, ensuring maximum visibility and participation.
- Brand Management: Ensure consistent use of IFBSO’s brand across all communication channels and materials.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and engage with key stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for IFBSO initiatives.
- Crisis Communication: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to manage potential issues and protect IFBSO’s reputation.
4. Meetings
- Format: Meetings can be held in person or virtually, depending on the circumstances and members' availability.
- Agenda and Minutes: Agendas will be distributed at least one week before each meeting, and minutes will be recorded and shared with all members within one week after the meeting.
5. Reporting
The CWG will report to the IFBSO ExCom on a quarterly basis, providing updates on progress, challenges, and any recommendations for ExCom approval.
6. Evaluation
The CWG will conduct an annual review of its activities and achievements, identifying areas for improvement and setting goals for the following year.
